You MUST visit bank when cd matures, we trusted them to renew at good rate and they gave us 0.2% for a 13 month deposit of $52,445.82 (old rate was 4.5%.) They look after new customers but don’t give a damn about existing ones. Withdrew the CD because can’t afford loss of interest and they took away $1,598.37 of OUR deposit as a penalty! BE WARNED.

Val, somewhere in the contract it claerly states that the cd, when it matures, will automatically renew at the current rate, unless you choose a different bank product. Did the bank send you a maturity notice?
