AFCU’s field of membership includes members of CityDance Ensemble. CityDance has open membership to anyone that pays membership dues of $20.00. This membership can be done at the same time that you apply for credit union membership. They have an online membership application in which you can join CityDance for $20 and join the credit union for a $5 initial deposit to the Primary Share account. You do not have to renew your CityDance membership to maintain membership at the credit union.

The field of membership also includes those who live, work or worship in Washington DC plus other group affiliations.

Branches are located in Washington DC, Riverdale, Maryland, and Alexandria, Virginia. AFCU is also part of National Shared Branching network in which you can use local credit unions to access your account and conduct many transactions.

This rate is only available in branches; you must visit a branch to open the CD. Branches are located throughout Virginia and Washington DC.

Those with a home loan greater than 5%, you should seriously consider refinancing your home or get Penfed 4.99% Home Equity Loan for 10 or 20 years. They are also offering 4.99% APR on Home Equity loans and Home Equity Line of Credit. There are no closing costs and the rate is fixed up to 240 months. If you have high credit card debts, then getting a HEL or HELOC might be the best way to go to save you money. For those already with a PenFed home loan, call them to see if you can modify your rate. Many people have reported successfully getting their rate down.

Penfed Auto Loan Rates

On top of that, PenFed CU is offering 3.99% auto loans on all new and used vehicles. The loan terms can be as long as 72 months for new vehicle. If you are paying anything more than 3.99%, you should join Penfed right away and take advantage of the low rate. This can save you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars over the course of a vehicle loan.

How to Join PenFed

It’s pretty easy for anyone to join and open accounts online. If you don’t qualify for membership based on military, employer, or family, you can become eligible by joining the National Military Family Association (NMFA). You can join both the NMFA and Penfed at the same time online, and requires a $20 yearly membership. You don’t need to maintain this membership to continue as a PenFed member, so it could be a one time payment. In addition, you can get membership if you are an employee or volunteer of the American Red Cross.

Start at your online application page, then join the NMFA and Penfed, and fund your account with $5 via credit card. You will select a PIN number, and then receive a membership number. You will receive all your membership info in three days to your address.
