Washington Mutual just bumped up their online CD rates to a fairly high 5.50% APY for their 6 month CDs. They also offer some competitive certificate of deposit rates on other maturity terms as well. Minimum deposit for all CDs is $1000.
Deposits can be funded through ACH, or from an existing WaMu checking or savings account. WaMu currently also has a pretty good promotion in their checking/savings combo, which allows you to maintain a degree of liquidity while consolidating checking, savings, and CD accounts.
Washington Mutual is FDIC insured.

This is a great CD rate from a major bank. A low minimum of $1,000 fo such a good CD rate is hard to find. Thanks for the information and the good find.
