Most businesses, like ours, have experienced cash flow difficulties since November 2008 as competition has increased and existing customers have not paid on time. In August 2008, we acquired a failing DC litigation support/Electronic Data Discovery company and tried to restructure their $900,000 debt, held with Access National Bank (ANB). Despite pretending to be sympathetic and cooperate with us, ANB has refused our restructuring plans 5 times and has instead hired an aggressive collections attorney to sue us at every turn, forcing us to spend more money. Nevertheless, we paid off all but $225,000 even in these difficult times. Still, they continue to proceed on aggressive collections that is forcing us, a service-disabled veteran owned firm, to file for bankruptcy protection against THEM for the remainder, as they are seizing all liquid assets without regards to our ability to operate.
So if you want to deal with a bank that is only a “fair weather friend”, and is parasitic and predatory–then ANB is the bank for you. If not, I suggest moving accounts and going elsewhere.
