Here are the categories for the 5% Chase Freedom promotion:

From April 1 – June 30, you can get 5% in: Home Improvement, Home Furnishings, Lawn and Garden, Drugstores

From July 1st – September 30th: Gas, Airlines, Auto Rental and Hotels

October 1st – December 31st: Grocery Stores, Department Stores and Movies

Limit: only $800 spending qualifies for the bonus.

Edit: Some readers have reported that their credit card was not approved for this promotion. So I guess the deal is YMMV.
