FNBO Direct 2% Cash Back Credit Card
Posted by Best Bank Rates under [ Bank Deals ] on October 3, 20073 Comments
FNBO Direct recently stopped their 6.00% Savings Account Rate promotion. The new rate for FNBO direct is 5.05%, which is not the highest, but still competitive especially after the Fed’s recent rate cuts.
FNBO has also introduced a new cashback credit card called the ExtraEarnings Visa Card. The card features:
- Cashback with 2% back for the first 12 months and 1% after that deposited directly into your FNBO Direct online savings account
- No annual fee
- 7.99 APR fixed on purchases and balance transfers
- Balance transfer fee of 3% of the transaction, with minimum of $10 will be applied to each transfer.
Overall, this isn’t the best credit card deal available, but for those of you looking to stay with FNBO after the promotion is over 2% cash back isn’t too shabby.

I had a very negative experience with FNBO. I think that they are going to go the way of NetBank.
I called up customer service to ask a question about a fee that I incurred on the account and was met by a disturbing amount of resistance. I could not believe how rude they were. To top it all off, I asked to close my account, and the rep said, “Sure, I will get that taken care of for you,” and hung up! I was shocked.
I think we will see this portion of First National Bank of Omaha go away VERY soon. Poor interface, poor customer service….not much going for FNBO Direct after their teaser rate goes away.
Despite the negative experience had by Lee, the offer is a fantastic deal, for a year. Subsequent to a year the offer will be 1% cash back. I have been dreaming of any credit card offering more than 1% cash back. Finally this is the answer. I am looking for another card still that will replace this card once my year is up. FNBO I expect will thrive, offering a very competitive savings rate and credit card. Some of the customer service support may not yet be up to date with regard to: courtesy, and product knowledge. I expect this will change with training and customer response.
